Parmi les plus grands chefs d'œuvres provençaux d'origines cisterciennes (ex : Sénanque et Silvacane), l'abbaye du Thoronet en fait partie. Elle commença à voir le jour entre 1160 et 1190 dans un site sauvage en plein cœur du Var. Donc, à ne pas manquer en cas de balade dans le Var, car, hormis des travaux de consolidation par le passé, l'ensemble des bâtiments de l'abbaye ont très bien été conservée, à commencer par l'église, puis le cloître entouré de galeries et renfermant une fontaine, et enfin les bâtiments conventuels et annexes.

Abbaye du Thoronet
Among the biggest Provencal masterpieces of Cistercian origins (ex : Sénanque abbey et Silvacane abbey), the Thoronet abbey is a party to it. It started to see the light of day between 1160 and 1190 into a natural and authentic site in the heart of Var department.
